Tørvis Hotel is surrounded by incredible natural surrounding just outside the hotel doors; with high snowcapped mountains and deep fjords colored by melting ice from the glacier. From low-tide sea to far up the mountainside we find a rich cultural landscape and cultivated land, with sweet fruits and berries. The farmers of Western Norway live here, with fruit growing in their gardens, lambs in the mountains and rifles on their walls waiting for the deer hunt. The lambs follow the melting ice to nibble the new protein-rich herbs and grasses, starting at the farms below and climbing to the mountainsides above. This gives our lamb a fantastic flavor.
The forests hold great quantities of mushrooms and deer, the king of Western Norway. Deer also climb the mountains in the summer. Fishermen catch excellent culinary fish from Sognefjord – Norwegian lobster, halibut and monkfish, just to name a few.

For Tørvis Hotel, it is important to have local food and beverages suppliers, as well as having larger distributors. It is important to have food supplies close to us, and have good contact with the people who manufacture are food products. In this way we gain unique and personal insight into the story behind the product, and we can participate in improving the product in the future.
Our menus have always started with the foods of the season and products that are best for just that time of year. We try to stick with this philosophy as far as possible.
Our wine list contains wines from small quality wineries, especially from France and Italy. Classic wines are available that combine well with our menu at reasonable prices. We also have a list of wines from our wine cellar, with particularly good wines for those of you with special taste. We can also offer good local apple juices and ciders, and regional or international beers.
